WE'RE DONE!
The Book of Lived
Dear Penny Authors,
I am very pleased to finally be able to say:
Volume 12 is complete!
The cover is finished.
The inside of the book is finished.
The final content has been brought together — and Volume 12 has now gone to print for a draft hard copy.
After all the work, editing, organising, checking and bringing everything together, it is quite something to finally see the book become a physical reality.
Publication date: 12 September 2026
That is the date currently set for the release of The Book of Lived — Volume 12.
There will be a little more checking to do when the draft copy arrives, but we have reached the point where the book is real, finished and on its way.
And I think this volume is particularly important.
It isn't simply another anthology.
It marks a new chapter for Penny Authors — one that looks back at what we have created, recognises the people who have been part of the journey, and begins to think seriously about where we go next.
And there is more to come...
I have also started speaking with a venue about availability for a Penny Authors event to celebrate the publication of Volume 12.
Nothing is confirmed yet, so I don't want to announce details before we know what is possible.
But the conversation has started.
And as we approach the 10-year anniversary of Penny Authors, it feels like the right time to start thinking about how we celebrate what has been created together.
There are lots of possibilities.
A launch.
Readings.
Recitals.
Meeting other Penny Authors.
Celebrating past contributors.
Looking at the journey so far.
And perhaps beginning the conversation about what the next ten years could look like.
This is your book too.
Volume 12 exists because people have brought their words to Penny Authors over the years.
So when your copy arrives, please don't just put it on a shelf.
Read it.
Discover another Penny Author.
Share it.
Take a photograph with it.
Tell someone about it.
And if you can, get involved in what comes next.
As I have said throughout this volume:
You don't have to give what you don't have.
But if Penny Authors has given something to you, bring whatever piece you can.
We are approaching ten years.
There is a lot to celebrate.
And there is a lot more we can do.
Volume 12 is finished.
The next chapter is beginning.
